报告摘要:

Understanding catalysis stands on knowing the molecular structure of the catalytic material during reaction and correlate it with its catalytic performance. In situ studies provide information on the states of a catalytic material under different controlled conditions, but in situ studies alone cannot provide accurate structure-activity relationships since in situ cells are not catalytic reactors and do not deliver reliable catalytic activity data.

Operando methodology uses a different approach, it brings spectroscopy to actual catalytic working conditions, so that you can now determine both structure and activity simultaneously.

Several spectroscopies are fit for this, among them, Raman spectroscopy is particularly well suited for this, as we will see in this lecture, ranging from thermal catalysis to photocatalysis.
